Areas of Ministry: Pastor of Leadership Development. Basically fulfilling Matthew 28:19 where it says, “Go therefore and make disciples…” which means taking the new or average Christian and making them a power house for God in thought, word, and deed! Then, thrust them forward in ministry to do the same thing. Jesus is awesome for coming up with such an amazing replicating system!
Family: I have been married to the most amazing, beautiful, honest, spicy, integrious, gorgeous, smart, sassy, hot, God fearing, but not prudish wife, Kari, for 20 years! She’s incredible! I know, I know, everyone thinks we don’t look old enough to be married that long but its true. We just have good genetics. I have two totally silly daughters named Deidra and Cassandra and they are the best daughters in the world! They both love God and are very smart and cuddly! Oh, and they inherited our good genetics.
Previous Lines of Work: Former professional Athlete- BMX Pro racer.(I still have mad bike skills and am really fast so don’t make a bet that you are faster than me cause people have lost money over it), Radio DJ, Security, Bike mechanic, Facility Services director at ORU, Fruit and vegetable stand worker, worked at a western town and wanted to be a gun slinger (I learned how to twirl a six shooter!), Chauffer for the rich and famous, tons of ministry experience, and I Pioneered and Pastored a church in Queen Creek, Arizona.
One of the Things I Find Most Fascinating: I marvel at how Pastor Paul can be so incredibly funny! Not only is he anointed and appointed but funny and spunky!
FAVORITE
Book/books: Ok I can’t really answer this since I have over 8,000 in my Library. Asking for my favorite book is like asking which daughter is my favorite. They are ALL equally my favorite!
Food: Well, anything really…but Kari’s tacos with that special meat and spices she uses is really mind blowing!
Snack Food: A large coke and a chocolate candy bar…or my wife’s tacos with a coke.
Movie: Braveheart is very inspirational to me because one man… or woman CAN make a difference! Tombstone because I’m a western buff, and 3:10 to Yuma because it’s a western where one man made a difference! Christian Bale and Russell Crowe did a masterful performance. Nacho Libre was so funny; I thought I dislocated a rib laughing so hard!
TV Show: I’m a Survivor nut and I’m ashamed to say I watch American Idol
Time of Day: My favorite time of day would be the moment I am in the warm loving embrace of my wife. (I’ll be scoring brownie points for this one!)
Season: Summer. I love it hot and sunny!
Place in the World: Jerusalem!
Place to Pray: In old churches, the desert, or in my truck…which smells like an old church and is dirty as the desert.
Recreational Activities/Hobbies: I love to go shopping with my wife, going to movies, riding my bikes, photography, art, going to church, and just chillin’ with my homies.
Sports Team:
Um, I don’t really follow sports much unless it’s a supercross!
Sports: BMX, Motocross, Mountain biking, Kari
LEAST FAVORITE
Food: Liver! I ate some in Russia once thinking it was beef and just about hurled.
Snack Food: Is there such a thing as a least favorite snack food?
Time of Day: When I’m not with my family and friends
Best Thing Someone Said to You: Three things: When God said, “I love You!” When my wife said, “I do”, and when my friend said, “Oh my gosh you have legs like tigers!”
Life Motto: Stand Firm! Life may give you hell but you must stand firm in Christ! One of the greatest quotes is, “Every man dies but not every man truly lives”
Three People I’d Like to Meet: Michael Landon (The father from little house on the Prairie), who was said to be a really God fearing man. When I was little I thought he was an awesome dad on film and I also heard he was the same in person. Billy the kid because I would have led him to Christ and Gautama Siddhartha so I could say the only path to enlightenment is found in JESUS!
My Hero: Whoever invented tacos
One of My Greatest Experiences with God: No Joke! I’m totally serious here…When Jesus appeared to me one night in my house in Florida. That’s as far as I will go because it was a very personal time and so powerful its hard for me to discuss without being moved to tears, even though it’s been several years past.
Most People Don’t Know This About Me: That I was healed of a crippling incurable disease as a child and went on to be a professional athlete. I dropped out of High School, although I went all 4 years) and went on to become a Bible scholar. Funny huh? Just goes to show you God can do anything with your life if you surrender it to Him!
